Dear Blog,
I can’t believe it’s nearly time to say goodbye. Today was so much fun: we learned a lot of pretty songs for banquet. I’m so excited for Wale’s Tale on Saturday. It will be a blast if the sun will just stay out! I have met so many cool campers and staff here, and I will miss them all so much. So, for now I’m just going to have to make the most out of every day I have left here and try not to take my time here for granted.

Friday was the second session horse show here at Farwell. The riding staff all woke up early to feed and muck before breakfast. Many campers also came up to help us, and to braid and groom the horses that they selected for the grooming class.
With less campers this session, the day was much more laid back and calm that our first show. It was nice that we had the opportunity to watch the girls exhibit their skills and show off how much they have learned this summer!
I can say with confidence that all the girls have made such vast improvements in their riding during their time here. All the girls did incredibly and should be so proud of themselves; all the classes were very close and difficult to judge.

“The Little Princess” was finally performed tonight! There were a few glitches along the way, but for the most part it was awesome! All the girls remembered their lines and the costumes we made looked great on stage. Everyone seemed to enjoy it. I know I did! I am very proud of every single one of the girls who acted. We all worked so hard together to produce a three-week play in two weeks! They managed it perfectly.

Today was so much fun! We had the horse show and the play. The horse show was great. I was in it riding C-Z and I got second place! I was also in the grooming show and got third place. Then I watched the staff show, and they were really good. For evening activity, we had the play, which was really good. I played Mr. Carsford, who saves Sara from Working at a boarding school in London. It was one of the best days ever. I love Camp Farwell.

Today was tons of fun. During J.F.Y I wrote banquet letters. I’m really excited for banquet, and I can’t wait to find out what the theme is. After J.F.Y, I had archery, which was a lot of fun. I’m a tiger in archery, which is awesome. Then I had kayaking. We kayaked around the beach and back. After that we had free dip, lunch, and quiet time. I helped Mikea write the address to her mom. I am glad Mikea is in my cabin. She is six years old and really cute. After quiet time, I had petting zoo, where I sat with the kittens and played with the really cute baby goats. Then I had sailing, which was soo much fun. There was so much wind and so we went really fast. At free dip I wrote more banquet letters. After dinner we had evening activity, which was…. popfest! All the counselors dressed up and lip-synched and it was really funny. It was my favorite evening activity, and I can’t wait for mini-fest tomorrow!!

The horse show was today. We all had a lot of fun. It was fun to see all of our friends ride and get ribbons. At the end of the day, it didn’t really matter who got first or last place, because we all did really well and we all had a lot of fun. I can’t wait for next year!

Today was the horse show, play, and a hike! It was a busy day at Farwell. I participated in the grooming class of the horse show, and I had a lot of fun watching the staff class! “The Little Princess” was a huge success. Today was an exciting day, and I can’t wait for all the fun coming up! I love Camp Farwell, it’s a blast!

This is the second and last hike we’re doing this session. The hike was for Junior and Intermediate campers. There were ten campers as well as Aleyssa, Kate B., and myself. We were the staff.
After a ten or fifteen minute drive, we arrived at the parking place. Nancy, the guide, was waiting for us with her huge dog. The campers went up to the lookout. After ten minutes of discussion, we decided to go to Devil’s Den. It took us more than an hour to get there, since we were trying to follow the tracks and Nancy was showing us different kinds of plants and mushrooms.
When we arrived, we explored a beautiful cave and climbed some rocks. After that, we had the snack and came back in forty-five minutes. It was a tiring trip, but we all agreed it was very interesting.

Today was an arena day, so we went to the picnic table. The activity was BUNYIPS! Bunyips are Farwell creatures. Each one is a certain color, and they only like their own color. They run away from other colors. Our cabin got assigned to the black bunyip. We made a nest for our bunyips of everything black that we owned. Then, we all got dressed in black. After that, everyone went looking for their bunyips. All the bunyips leave clues so you can find them. Ours led us up past the tennis courts and sports field onto a horse trail. It took our cabin the longest to find our bunyips– they were hidden VERY well! We wandered in circles with our buddy cabin, Stepping Stones, and through the woods. Some of us made the mistake of wearing flip-flops. After many scratches and bug bites, someone in our group thought they saw something black. It was our two bunyips, Becca and Andrew. They were hidden under logs in the middle of the woods.
When we found them we had to bring them back to the “nest.” As soon as the other teams saw us, they tried to scare our bunyips away. They shouted their colors and made the bunyips run away. Our bunyips were covert-op bunyips. We had an awesome nest for our bunyips adventure. Andrew and I had tons of fun being the black bunyips.
(from Becca) We did make our girls work a little harder to find us than the others. Andrew constructed a pretty fabulous hide in the woods, and I’m not sure the kids would ever have found us if I hadn’t forced him to make noise! But, they made us an awesome nest so it was worth getting caught. I love bunyips!

Dear Blog,
Today was the horse show and the play, “The Little Princess.” It was a really busy day. Everyone did a fantastic job in the horse show! We placed first and second! And congratulations to everyone else who competed! All the counselors were amazing, and we hope that Paddington recovers from his somersault!
The afternoon was a lot more mellow than the morning, but things heated up with the performance of “The Little Princess.” Everyone did outstandingly. We are so excited to go to Whale’s Tale tomorrow. Water slides, here we come!
We would also like to say goodbye to our two weekers, who will leave us tomorrow. We will really miss you.
