Dear Blog

Dear Blog,

Camp Farwell is the best ever! It is so much fun, and I love my cabin. We all get along really well. There are a lot of exciting things happening at camp this week. The CITs went on a field trip and stayed overnight, so the seniors had a pink party at lunch for their return. Everyone wore pink and it was awesome!

CIT trip

August 15, 2007 by campfarwell

Dear Blog,

Yesterday, all thirteen CITs, Jade, and Shelby ventured out into the real world for a twenty-four hour excursion. We drove into Lincoln, NH, for a night of fun! Although we all enjoyed leaving camp for a little while, it was weird to be hanging out with each other away from the responsibilities of our positions at camp. It was great to have the time to watch movies, stay up really late, eat restaurant food, and be girlie together. We really developed a bond that will last forever.

Whale’s Tale

August 15, 2007 by campfarwell

Dear Blog,

On Saturday we went to Whale’s Tale! Everyone had a great day, and spent all their time on the speed slides! The wave pool was also very popular, and a lot of campers passed the time floating around and chatting on tubes. We were all disappointed to learn that the lazy river was closed until two o’clock in the afternoon, but that still gave us all plenty of time to enjoy it. Between the hot tubs, waves, slides, food, and sunbathing, it was a wonderful day!

From the Archery Field

August 15, 2007 by campfarwell

Today is the last tuesday of camp, but it is also the archery tournament! Yeah! The lucky few who signed up for the contest got to start the day off with the archery competition, which took place during the J.F.Y period. The contest was very exciting, as numerous campers became lions this session! We were excited to see how the girls would perform under the pressure of competition, and they all did great.

Later in the day, mini-fest was the evening activity, and it was great! All the girls put on brilliant shows, which were very much appreciated and enjoyed by all of the camp.

Horse Show and Whale’s Tale!

August 14, 2007 by campfarwell

Dear blog,

I can’t believe camp is almost over! The last two weeks have gone by so quickly. Today I had a lot of fun at the horse show. It was the first time I didn’t ride in it. The advanced classes were really fun to watch, especially the jumping, and it is always great to have a small break from the normal schedule. I’m so excited to go to Whale’s Tale tomorrow! I am really sad that the two-weekers are leaving though. After the storms last week, the weather has been great. Hopefully the sun will stay out for our last week of camp!

Mikea says….

August 14, 2007 by campfarwell

Dear Blog,

I am having so much fun at camp. My cabin loves to play jacks, and we are always playing. I was asked to play the elephant bird in the musical. I can’t wait to see my parents, but I’m going to miss camp so much!

An Amazing Day at Camp Farwell

August 14, 2007 by campfarwell

Today has been a really good day– from beginning to end. At breakfast, we got cinnamon rolls and they were delicious! After breakfast and cabin clean-up, we had one of the first run-throughs of “A Little Princess,” which we will be performing on Friday. Wow, it is going to be really good.

At lunch we had the “pink party,” which the camp hosts for the CITs upon their return from their trip. The girls all dressed up in pink, and there were pink decorations everywhere! After the party and a relaxing quiet time, we continued work on the play. After that, I went swimming in the lake and it was lovely.

Dinner today was very special because it was Israeli and French night. We learned about the two cultures and got to sample their cuisine, courtesy of the French and Israeli staff! After that, my cabin got to watch a movie with popcorn! We won the movie fairy at the gold rush fair. There was lots of giggling during the movie. It was the perfect end to a great day!

My Last Day at Farwell

August 13, 2007 by campfarwell

Dear Blog,

I love Camp Farwell!!! It’s my last day of my second year, and I’m so sad to leave. My cabin mates, friends, and counselors are so cool. I’ll always remember them. All of the activities were so fun, and the meals were so good. I had a great last day. The horse show was so exciting! I will really miss the horses and everyone here! I was also in the play. Everyone did a great job. We put on a show everyone would remember. We all worked so hard and it really paid off. A part of me will always be with Farwell. I’ll never forget you!

Love,

Hopefully it will be the same nice weather for Whale’s Tale tomorrow! But we are really sad that the two-weekers are leaving tomorrow, and we wish they could stay another week. Camp has gone by in a flash!!
